Clarence Hoe King Chuan accused of molesting schoolboys: personal details and full resume exposed

SINGAPORE - A former school teacher has been charged with 11 counts of committing indecent acts with two teenage boys and getting one of them to massage his groin area.

Clarence Hoe King Chuan, 37, who was head of department in a primary school, allegedly committed the offences at a flat in the north in 2012 and earlier this year.

He is now unemployed. Hoe, who was charged in court on Thursday, is accused of touching a 13-year-old boy's private parts underneath his shorts and placing the teen's hand on his genitals underneath his shorts.

The alleged incident occurred in April 2012. Sometime between April 2012 and early last year, he allegedly procured an indecent act by asking the boy to massage his groin area.

For six consecutive months starting from May 2012, he is said to have massaged the teenager intimately at the same flat. The last three charges state that he committed an indecent act with another boy aged 14, by touching his buttocks.

He is also accused of touching the teen's thigh and genitals. The alleged offences took place on March 15 this year. Hoe, who is represented by Mr Adrian Chong, was told by the court not to approach the alleged victims.

His police bail of $15,000 has been extended. A pre-trial conference has been fixed for Jan 12. If convicted under the Children and Young Persons Act, he could be fined up to $10,000 and/or jailed for up to 10 years on each charge.

Response to threat of legal action by forum user

A certain person going by the online username of mcrasp threatened us with the following in the SG Talk forums:

"I have emailed Learning Lab about the defamatory post. You have a problem with them, then take to it other forums like Kiasu Parents. You are asking to be sued."

We replied:

"Please do not make us laugh. If you bothered to read properly, the rant about the learning lab was quoted word for word right off the Kiasu Parents Forum by some very upset mother. We did not fabricate our own tall tale just to smear someone. We know Chief Kiasu to be a man of the highest integrity; the fact that he had not deleted this complaint for such a long time means the accusations must be valid. As such the general public must learn about this. If TLL wants to sue, go ahead. Take aim at the source of the post, not where it was cited in a secondary location like our site. Just be careful a can of worms isn't opened in the process. Think the NKF saga."
